from Tokyo with love

I got the most beautiful card from Japan today.
The card was drawn by my good friend Nova and it is stunning.
Nova was traveling in Japan a while ago and it's wonderful to hear from him and hear about his trip  x]

Desucon is finally here, and in my hometown, Lahti. I didn't get the tickets to go there, but my friend agreed to sell my cards at her stand, so if you happen to be there, you should go and say hello to her! She is pretty hard to miss. Her works are unbeliavable, so you should check her devaint account too!

aisti 2012

Last week was our schools annual fashion show called "aisti 2012" which means "sense" when translated to English language. This year we had two shows which is exeptional, beacuse usually there has been only one. Even tho the second one did not feature our sophomore years and the freshmen students work, it still was a pretty nice show. The first show was held in Helsinki's tulli- and pakkahuone, which is an old port storage building. Our school's  interior designer students made a very good work with the hall in which the show was held. I sadly didn't get any pictures of it myself, because my phones battery was almost dead, but at least I got a snap of my garment on the model. Despise of that, catwalk photos were taken and you can find them on our department's website: http://www.muva.fi/aisti12/

Paris

I went to Paris this weekend. It was sort of like a small vacation, easter holidays, if you may. Packed my bags on thursday and went to Helsinki later that evening just to wake up at 4am, to make a trip to Helsinki-Vantaa airport. It was kinda nice to see Helsinki so empty in the night/morning. The flight was going to be via München. everything was going great, untill we found out that out flight was late, and we would probably miss our flight fom München to Paris. Well, we did make it to our plane destinated to Paris, but out luggage didn't. They told us in charles de gaulle, that they'd get the luggage in the evening fron Germany and send it to our hotel, so we hoped that nothing else would happen.
It was nice to see Paris once again, since last time I visited the city, I was about 10 years old.. I think.
I had forgotten how small the streets were, you have to squeeze to get past people. Thankfuly our hotel was pretty much in the center so we could just walk everywhere.. Well almost. But because I personally love subways and undergrounds, I insisted that we'd buy the public transport tickets and travel at least once using the subway.

We [ofcourse] had to see all the sightseeings there, Louvre, Sacré-Cœur, La Tour Eiffel, Musée d'Orsay, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame de Paris.. ect. It was awesome, even tho we had to wait for like 57minutes in line for Musée d'Orsay. but it was it was worth it.

The "Franklin D. Roosevelt"- station was gorgeous. I think it was one of the newest metropolitain stations, because it had this interesting, design touch. From there we made our way to la Defence, the new part of Paris. I must say it's something I have never seen before. I liked all the sculptural buildings and open spaces.
Thankfully the rest of the trip went without complications, I must say, my triceps muscles were really sore after the vacation, but it was totally worth it. So much inspiration, that my brain can't handle it all at once x]

sverige

so yesterday we came from Sweden. It was a nice trip after a long stressful week.
so, the minute we stepped onto the boat, I realized that it reminded me of Bioshock-the game. that was not a good omen x]

after a while, we went treasure hunting around the place, but the only place without screaming children or drunken adults was this little cafe underneath the main deck. it was a dark, somewhat arabic-styled area, with a funny swedish man at the register.
it was really hard to sleep on a boat because of all the caffeine I used last week and the fact that someone was constantly running down the hall, and the boat was seriously rocking..
anyway, as we arrived in Stockholm, the first thing we saw were these awesome graffiti and stickers near the port.

we then followed a small group of people to the subway (tunnelbana) and then went to the center.
it was hilarious to spot "in" and "out" signs here and there x]

we also found this awesome fox sitting in a corner of a street. at fist I thought it was human, but the we went closer, and it turned out to be a statue. I don't know if it's from some legend or not, but it still looked quite stunning in the morning light.

at the end of the day or feet were so sore and we were so exhausted, that we went straight to bed and slept for good 3 hours.

oh yeah! and there were psychotic marzipan ducks
